Catalina Joita

My art is inspired by my own experiences and feelings. Over the years through art I have tried to understand both the world around me and the one inside me. I used photography in a therapeutic way, showing both the beautiful and the unpleasant parts of life, documenting moments of joy and pain. Through my works I want to show the human experience in a realistic way, not in a romanticized way. Sadness must be accepted in the same way as joy, because just as light cannot exist without darkness, neither can joy exist without sadness.
